Wedding Film

Caroline and Josh

Caroline and Josh picked our favourite time of year (fall) to get married. The leaves were in peak colours which provided stunning backdrops. For hunters this was opening weekend; and this led to countless ribbing from Josh’s close hunting friends by saying “He’ll never forget the anniversary date”!

Caroline was stunning and full of smiles throughout the day. It was a true pleasure to capture your day. You both made it so easy!

Allison and Michael

Allison and Michael were married on a fabulous August day at Fort William Country Club. Her best friend Teddy (the dog, not the Maid of Honour) was by her side the entire morning while she got ready. Both of their dogs watched her getting ready and as dog lover ourselves it was heart warming to watch. Scroll down to see their wedding highlights film and more images.

I asked a few questions about the other to both Allison and Michael, and both had trouble keeping it together with the thought of the other. It was so nice to see. Congratulations!

Alison & Michael. An Engagement Session

We met this lovely couple in one of our favourite spots just outside town. What we planned on taking an hour quickly turned into one of the fastest e-sessions we’ve ever done as the mosquito’s were gargantuan and hungry!! One of my absolute favourite images from this session resulted from Alan wafting Alison and Michael with a reflector to keep the bugs off them as they sat in the long grass, long enough for me to capture a few special moments! Hopefully their wedding day will be less buggy! Ah life in NW Ontario!

Jessica and Nick

We knew this was going to be fun wedding from the moment they walked through the door.  For Jessica, music is a part of her life.  We spent the time capturing her at the piano playing Canon; which was also their processional march.  Their ceremony was at Redwood Church.  The words from Pastor Joel were so inspiring that they became the soundtrack of the film.   After a beautiful ceremony and reception we were invited to their after party at Jessica’s parents camp (that’s cabin or cottage for you outta towners!).

We were there to film, but we were treated as guests and ended up spending the entire day with their friends and family.  This is what we love about our job….the fact that it doesn’t feel like one.   We met them as clients and left as friends.  Who could ask for a better job?

Amanda and Steve… so in love! An Engagement Session.

This engagement session may be one of our all time favourites! Amanda and Steve were the sweetest couple on their e-session. So clearly in love and giddy with anticipation of their wedding day. Completely comfortable with each other and in front of the camera. At times I’m pretty sure they forgot we were even there! Alan buzzed around them with the drone getting aerial footage for their wedding film while I stood back and let the magic unfold! This was a great taste of what’s to come for their wedding day.

Dana+Trevor’s E-Session

We met Dana and Trevor in Thunder Bay’s Boulevard Lake Park on one of those oh-so-fleeting days of Fall . It should be called “Thud” here in NW Ontario as leaves fall in what seems like one audible drop to the ground! Well, before that happened we were lucky to pick a lovely sunny evening and went for a walk around the lake to capture The Love!!

This cute couple will be tying the knot in sunny Costa Rica in January and Alan and I are thrilled to be going along to capture  the whole week’s events  with stills and video! Too exciting!

Relay for LIfe: Thunder Bay

The Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life will be held Friday June 15th at Fort William Historical Park. We were there in 2010 and will be there again this Friday.

This one will be especially important for us. Two years ago I made an image of Alan holding two luminaries in honour of two cancer survivors: his birth and adoptive Moms. Sadly, his birth Mother Sandra lost her battle in August 2011.
Here’s a link to his blog on Imagine Photo Cinema: https://imaginephotocinema.com/2012/06/2012-relay-for-life/

It’s impossible to go through life without knowing someone who’s been affected by this horrible disease. We’ll be there again this year to honour those who are fighting, those who have survived and those who have fallen to this enemy.

Hope to see you there!

Rain? What rain?

Alan and I met Nikki & Jason earlier this year when we consulted on their forthcoming wedding. After we met them we were completely taken with this loving and fun couple and more than happy to capture their wedding day.

The day we planned their E-Session was miserable and rainy so we decided to postpone to the following week when the weather man promised warmer temperatures and clearer skys. However when that day arrived we were faced with the same conditions. Nikki and I texted back and forth all day as we watched the storm clouds blow in over the city…and then pass…and then return. Nikki was keen to continue and kept her fingers crossed. Lucky she did as we ended up having one of the nicest evening shoots I can remember in a long time…

Alan and I are so excited to be a part of their wedding day this fall.

Trash the Dress with Imagine films

Alan and I love working together, not only on weddings but engagement shoots as well as Trash the Dress shoots like this one from last fall. Tammy & Joe wanted something a little different..to trash the dress BEFORE the wedding and use the images for their surprise wedding invitations. Tammy’s dad was a hoot and completely took on his role with great enthusiasm. Despite the rain and last minute change of venue the finished images and film worked out better than anyone anticipated!
